UNDER 10s DO IT AGAIN!

Success at Flint United Tournament

Following their winning the Power League Tournament last weekend, our Under 10s took advantage of the half term break and made the long journey to Wales for a tournament at Flint United. This was unknown territory for the Young Eagles and they had no idea of either the teams they were facing or their potential strength.

Manager Dan Chell felt that the tournament would be a good test for his young team. On arrival, he found that they would be facing teams from Liverpool, Southport, Cheshire, Runcorn, Ellesmere and North Wales.

Undaunted by this and after last week's success, the team continued to play their football in the right way and progressed through the tournament all the way to the final. Whilst winning every game, they managed to do it without conceding a goal - a notable achievement in itself.

So, to the final, where they met 7 Elite (a paid for academy). The team's quality shone through in the match as they went 2-0 up. Whilst manager Chell was, perhaps, a little disappointed to concede a scrappy late goal, they had done enough for the team to win their second tournament in a week. He was more than pleased though that his young side scored 19 goals and only conceded one. In addition to this, Elijah Harris was the competition's top scorer.

Dan said: "My players were an absolute credit to Eccleshall FC and our club's future certainly looks bright. Their quality shone through, so much so that other team coaches were questioning our team's ages. However, rather than being upset by this, I take it as a compliment to how well we played on the day".

Everyone at the Stoke Signage Stadium congratulates Dan and his Young Eagles on what has been a successful week for our Under 10s.
